Zappitella’s wrestling skills are her strong suit.
TUCSON, ARIZ._Thursday night at Combate Americas 13, Alesha ‘Half Pint’ Zappitella, of Conneaut, defeated Stephanie Alba by way of unanimous decision, 29-28 on all three scorecards to remain undefeated in her Mixed- Martial Arts (MMA) career.
Zappitella improves her record to 3-0-0 as a professional. The 22-year-old made her professional debut just six months ago, defeating Jayme Hinshaw by way of unanimous decision at King of the Cage: Equalizer. ‘Half Pint’ followed up in February, submitting Miao Ding in the second round by way of an Arm-Triangle Choke at Kunlun Fight 9. Tonight’s victory means Zappitella will keep her unbeaten professional record.
Alba falls to 3-2-0. She is now on a two-fight losing streak after dropping a split decision to Paulina Granados back in May 2016 at Combate Americas 5. Prior to these losses, she had the perfect 3-0-0 unbeaten record, including a first round rear-naked choke over Maria Lopez.
Combate Americas 13 took place from the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, Ariz. The event was aired live on ESPN Latin America and Azteca TV.
