Drums along Mohawk Fine Papers means 100 new jobs in 2014

SAYBROOK_The new year is bringing new jobs to Ashtabula County thanks to the planned expansion of Mohawk Fine Papers at 6800 Center Road in Saybrook. Up to 100 new jobs will be added at the facility after the multi-million dollar upgrade is completed.

    The first company-sponsored job fair is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 at Infinity Resources on 2608 W. Prospect Road in Saybrook. Job seekers will be able to apply for jobs at this time and they should bring a valid driver’s license or state photo identification and second form of an ID. Applicants must have a high school or GED diploma. Experience is not a requirement.

Infinity Resources will host two additional opportunities for people to apply for jobs at Mohawk Fine Papers in Saybrook. They are is scheduled for 4:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 and Wednesday, Jan. 8.

    Mohawk is operating one eight-hour shift per day, five days a week, but plans to begin three eight-hour shifts per day, seven days a week, once new equipment is on-line in 2014. The nature of the work will be centered around envelope converting. The jobs will include maintenance technicians, envelope die cutters, material handlers and more.
