ANDOVER_It was parade day in the Village of Andover and the weather was perfect for a marchers and watchers alike Monday for all of Ashtabula County. The mild temperatures and light breeze were welcomed by all in attendance. Andover Police Chief Randy Gentry driving his police cruiser with lights flashing lead the Memorial Day parade north on South Main Street. The Honor Guard kept pace with Gentry.
The Pymatuning Valley High School Band, PVHS cheerleaders, Boy Scout members and Girl Scout members, Miss Pymatuning 2012, Michaelia Skleres, of Andover, Junior Miss Pymatuning 2012 Katie Miller, of Cochranton, Pa., Andover Fire Department vehicles were also part of the parade. Youngsters scrambled for candy tossed to the curb by parade participants. Tina Teeter sang “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and members of The Guardians motorcycle club honored veterans after the completion of the parade.
